Meet The Team – 2021

Aoibheann Bourke

Aoibheann Bourke is a current MEconSc student in European Public Affairs and Law at University College Dublin. She decided to study this course after enjoying her undergraduate studies in Politics, International Relation and History. She is excited to be a part of the Brussels Insider Podcasting team as she is passionate about engaging people’s interest in the European Union.

Jack O’Neill

Jack is currently pursuing a MEconSc in European Public Affairs and Law at UCD and is a recent graduate of Trinity College Dublin. His research interests are centred around interest group involvement in the policy process and lobbying in general. He is keen to apply his research and communication skills to understanding how Businesses and NGO’s alike engage with the EU institutions.

Sarah Giblin

Sarah is currently in the first year of her Masters in European Governance at University College Dublin, following which she’ll be undertaking her second year at Utrecht University. She has an L.L.B. in International & European Law and is keen to pursue a career in the EU Institutions or the Irish Department of Foreign Affairs.

Fintan Vaughan

Currently studying European Public Affairs and Law at University College Dublin and a recent graduate of Dublin City University. Fintan has extensive experience in research, analysis, and communication and is keen to apply his skills to new and diverse tasks working in policy and international relations.

Léo Lictevout

Léo Lictevout is a student of the dual Master’s degree in European Governance in University College Dublin and Utrecht University, and holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from Sciences Po Grenoble. His interest for European politics and public information led him to work as a journalist on European affairs for a year, and more recently to create his own podcast on the topic, ACROPOL.

Kevin Herron

After graduating with a BA in Music & History and an MA in Music Performance from University College Cork, Kevin worked as a professional musician, gaining extensive experience in communications and events. With a passion and interest in European affairs, he is currently enrolled in MEconSc European Public Affairs & Law at University College Dublin.

Amy McAuley

Amy is currently studying European Politics and Policy at University College Dublin, having recently graduated from Trinity College Dublin with a degree in History and Political Science. Amy has extensive experience in communications, and research. Her research interests lie in political communication, social media, and transparency politics. Amy is keen to develop her skills in a European sphere, focusing on communications, citizenship, and young people.

James P. Cross

James P. Cross is a Jean Monnet Chair and Associate Professor in the School of Politics and International Relations at University College Dublin and co-founder of the Connected_Politics Lab @ UCD. His research agenda addresses various aspects of international and comparative politics, with a specific focus on policy-making in the European Union (EU).
